Friday, February 10th, 2006

Toni Becker, wife of semo.net’s founding-owner Brian Becker, has released a song from her upcoming CD, Storybook. The song, Duty Calls, is a tribute to the men and women of our military who have done so much to protect our country over the years and specifically since 9/11. Since posting the song on MySpace.com last week, she has been receiving emails and bulletins from soldiers all over the world thanking her for the message in the song.

Duty Calls
by Toni Becker and Brian Becker

They were high school sweethearts in Hometown, USA
David was a football star; Becky perfect in every way
Their love endured the college years, he proposed and she said yes
They walked out of that big brick church in a tux and wedding dress

Then the world turned a corner on a cold September morning
You see, David was a soldier..

Duty calls, Im on my way
Id stand between you and the enemy any day
Duty calls, I will defend
The honor of my nation, my family and friends
Duty calls

This story is unfolding a thousand times a day
They may be different circumstances but the bottom line remains
Theyre trading all their comfort for a bunker in the sand
Where they will risk their lives for the freedom of every man

Because the world turned a corner on a cold September morning
I hear the cry of a soldier..

Duty calls, Im on my way
Id stand between you and the enemy any day
Duty calls, I will defend
The honor of my nation, my family and friends
Duty calls

My boots will fill the footsteps of the brave whove gone before
Their memory will remind me its a cause worth fighting for
